De 80's Matraman

Good for the price, with excellent staff and adequate AC. It was clean enough, though a bit out of the way. The neighbours' view was sweet, and the mosques weren't too loud in the early hours. In an internal room you'd probably barely hear them.

I stayed for three days, and it was decent. The nice, clean room, good bed, and especially strong AC make this place amazing for its price. The toilet and water heater were good too, and they provide supplies like shampoo, soap, and toothpaste. The balcony has a clean view, and rooms are non-smoking. You can smoke only on the balcony on each floor. Staff were always nice and seemed to enjoy their work. There's CCTV, and workers will gladly help if something goes missing inside the property, though that doesn't cover items outside it. The main downside is how far it is from most things. Gramedia and a few minimarkets are the exceptions; food takes a bit of walking, and you can't order from the hotel because there's no kitchen for cooking or making anything. It's only for staying, and getting elsewhere is hard without a vehicle or other transport. There's a bus station sort of nearby, but still a bit of a walk. Also, you have to pay $8 (100.000 idr) for accommodation, and they'll pay it back after your stay, so keep the payment receipt. That's why I gave four stars, based on my own three days there.

They provide amenities including a toothbrush and mineral water, and there's a water heater in the room.

There was a double booking, and they turned us away.
