The only thing going for this place is its strategic location. My stay in Jakarta was one of the worst, and I really wouldn’t recommend it. The price changed dramatically after I arrived. Booking apps showed around 70-120K per room, and I booked through OYO for 75K, but they charged me 180K total, an extra 105K. Add another 50K and you could get a decent 3-star hotel. What a scam. The room was awful and lacked basic things. There was no AC remote, not a single TV channel worked, and there were pillows but no bolsters. It smelled bad, had no ventilation, and was dirty everywhere. The room was too small, and the lights and AC could only be switched on or off at the MCB station. The bathroom was even worse: the water heater didn’t work, water was leaking badly, and everything was rusty and dirty. There was no ventilation there either. The staff weren’t friendly and didn’t seem to know basic hospitality. They couldn’t explain the price difference from the app, only saying it was their internal SOP and decision. The office number didn’t work either. I tried calling before booking and got no answer. If you’re thinking of staying here, please read the reviews first, or you may regret it like I did, along with many others.

The air conditioning was very cool, and the hot water worked perfectly. That was the one good thing. The room was small, with lots of mosquitoes. Every night I killed at least 8-9 big ones. The sheets looked old and dirty, the bathroom smelled and was slippery, and the Wi-Fi was pretty bad. On my second night, the key card stopped working and there was nobody who could reprogram it. They handed me the building’s master key instead, which felt dangerous. At night, many of the entrances are blocked, so it’s confusing to get in.

I just checked in today, and this is the worst OYO I’ve stayed at. The room is really damp and dark, the bathroom is dirty, and the hot water doesn’t work. The bedsheet is awful too, with a blood stain on it. I can’t even sleep.

It’s a guesthouse turned into hotel rooms, but they’re tiny, with barely enough room to stand and get dressed. The Wi-Fi is terrible, there are mosquitoes, and there’s no housekeeping. The price is too high compared with a 3-star hotel.
