Edited: The hotel team later contacted me, refunded the parking fee, and apologized for the poor service. Respect to the Harris Hotel team for addressing the issue. I hope this doesn't happen again. My check-in experience was frustrating. I arrived around 3:30 PM, after the earliest check-in time of 2 PM. The hotel was confusing to navigate, and the information desk told me I could check in there. At the reception, they asked my room preference, which I'd already given through tiketcom, then told me the room wasn't ready. That seemed unusual given the check-in time. When I asked when it would be ready, the receptionist couldn't say and asked me to wait nearby so someone could inform me. I waited over 30 minutes on the couch across from the information desk. When nobody came, I asked a male staff member and was told to check at reception. I said I didn't want to go there if the room still wasn't ready. He helped contact reception, and it turned out my room was ready. I was upset that no one had confirmed this sooner. The same receptionist said he'd just been about to tell me, but I was already angry and asked for compensation. I didn't need a late checkout, which was all he offered. When I asked what else could be done, he nervously said he'd discuss it with management. The compensation I eventually got was a slice of cake and some fruit. I appreciate the gesture, but the service overall was awful. I also asked about free parking and gave the receptionist my license plate, but I wasn't given the free parking when I checked out. Maybe I should have reconfirmed at checkout, but it's still disappointing for a well known hotel to provide service like this.
