Hotel Cantik Syari

It’s a nice hotel with standard accommodation at a low price for the city center, where hotels can be expensive. If you’re driving, though, don’t expect much parking. There are only two spaces in the lobby. You can park in the mosque area across the street instead.

I paid 80,000 rupiahs for a night in Jakarta, which is incredibly cheap and totally worth it. The loo was very clean, and I loved that. They also had an Al qur'an and Mukena for Muslim prayers. I forgot to take a picture, though.

For IDR 281,000, you get almost everything a traveler needs. I was surprised by the price, and the service was clean, fast, and humble. It’s a very nice mid-range hotel. This is a “Syar'i Hotel,” meaning its rules are based on Islamic sharia, including that couples must show clear identification certifying that they’re husband and wife. I think that’s excellent, given the moral decline among the younger generation that’s easy to see in towns and cities, especially big ones.

It’s a brand-new hotel, and I like its Islamic style. They provide a prayer mat, clothes, and a holy Quran, which I thought was beautiful. The receptionist wasn’t helpful when I needed help carrying my heavy bags, though.
