Hotel Gren Alia Jakarta

We had a really good family vacation here. The room was spacious, and breakfast was delicious. There’s a lot to use for under $50 a night: a Big Mosque, gym, game room, outdoor playground with dry and wet areas, and a private pool. It’s in central Jakar, with easy access around the city. I’d recommend it, especially for Moslem families.

We’ve stayed here twice, so I don't think it needs much explaining why I'd recommend it. It’s the greatest and most syar'iest hotel I've ever stayed at. The kids loved all the places to play: a mini waterpark, playground, games corner, and mini park with rabbits, birds, and more. On our second visit during school holidays, they even had a movie night in the cafe area. The food was great, with buffet options like waffles, cakes, puddings, cereal, juices, omelettes, pasta, sausages, salads, and a coffee machine for drinks including black coffee, cappuccino, and hot Milo. The mosque on M floor is quite big and clean. I think the hotel hosts many Islamic or Arabic daars. Our room was clean and cozy. Haramain channel was on the TV when we arrived, and there was a sajadah and kiblat direction. We also got a welcome drink, with a choice of hot lemon tea, iced lemon tea, or hot wedang jahe. The kids were so happy playing here, and my parents were happy too. I think only families stay here, no unmarried couples. The hotel is in central Jakarta, so it’s easy to get to Sarinah and other popular spots.

Really good for kids' activities. The waterpark is quite proper, almost like a native waterpark. It's also near heritage places and memorable resto. Good!

The front office staff didn't greet us or offer any help. I used to work in hospitality, so I know the basic standards for hotel staff, and friendliness is part of the service guests pay for, even at a three-star hotel.
