Menteng felt like a nice, safe area to me, with a few warungs around that I’d recommend. There isn’t loads to do nearby, but Grab rides didn’t take long. My girlfriend and I stayed for two weeks in December 2025, and for the price I thought the hotel was solid. It’s showing its age, with dated rooms and a slow lift, though most staff were friendly and greeted me whenever I came or went. When the air conditioning caused trouble, they moved us to another room that same day. A friendly receptionist with glasses also gave me a discount when I asked to extend the stay. The room still could have been cooler, since the aircon didn’t seem to have a cold enough setting. I’d recommend it despite that.

We found it easy to get to the hotel, which is close to Gambir Train Station. There’s a swimming pool and a small playground too, which worked well for our family with kids staying overnight. A very nice hotel.

It’s affordable, and breakfast was 30k per person. The spot is central, near Cikini station and a bus stop, so getting around Jakarta is easy. But I’m not into the old fashioned feel. The TV just has channels like SCTV and RCTI, with no Netflix, Prime, or Disney, and there’s no hair dryer. The bar soap that wouldn’t lather was the last straw for me.

The breakfast choices were pretty limited. Still, the place was clean, including the room and pool, and the location was great. It’s an old fashioned hotel, but the price is affordable.

The room was big and nice, and there’s plenty of parking for cars. It’s near cafes and restaurants, and also close to the hospital I needed to visit, which is why I liked staying here. The hotel may be old, but it’s clean. Breakfast didn’t have many choices, though what they served tasted good, and the staff were friendly.
