Hotel Mustika Gajah Mada

The building is thoughtfully designed with good-quality materials, and the reception team seemed friendly. One young woman who spoke English was especially kind. The shower pressure was strong, too. Those were the brighter points. The upkeep was poor. The sheets had old-looking stains and the towel was dirty. There were cobwebs in the shower corners and on top of the shower gel. I can't tell when the bathroom was last cleaned. The room locks also felt flimsy. At night, karaoke noise came straight into our second-floor room, and a drunk stranger tried to enter it. Reception could only apologize. Men were smoking throughout the hotel, and the atmosphere didn't feel right. I wouldn't choose this for families or people with asthma. Breakfast had very few unappealing options. I was told the bread was gone, but when I asked about it, staff went out to get more. The gym was barely there. When I asked, they couldn't provide an extra pillow or an iron. A 90-minute massage for 150,000 was advertised, though I didn't try it. I'd only stay again alone if I needed somewhere cheap. I moved elsewhere after paying a little more for better quality.

For this price, it's a pretty good deal, probably as good as you can get. They upgraded our room to a king the other night, which was really nice of the front desk. I'd definitely come back~~

My first night in Indonesia was awful. The room smelled bad, the walls were covered in stains, and there were oily marks all over the bedsheets. I pointed out the stains when I checked in because I had a feeling they'd charge me for them, and they still added 200k to my bill. Avoid this SCAM hotel.
