Margot Hotel by RedDoorz

The location is great, but I stayed for a month and found the rooms subpar, with tons of mosquitoes. It cost 180rb a night with no discount. Getting a good night's sleep was especially hard: a foreigner in the lobby watched Family Feud on loudspeaker and yelled “Wee!!” every five seconds. Staff were pretty loud too, starting as early as 6am.

It's the same place as the redoorz. The location is convenient, within walking distance of the USA embassy and national monument. But the rooms are full of mosquitoes and have bed bugs. You can probably find somewhere else at a similar price.

It's a decent budget hotel: the room was clean, and the facilities were just about satisfactory. The room was quiet, and the service was helpful and polite. Don't expect anything fancy, but I think the service is worth the money.

On Jln Jaksa, this four-floor hotel is in the famous street where you'd want to be, right in central Jakarta and close to everywhere, with a cozy atmosphere. It's unbelievable how much quality you get for so little money. The rooms are cozy, there's a street-side restaurant, and the staff are very helpful. You also get a TV, airco, and a shower with properly hot water.
