Mega Anggrek Hotel & Convention

The staff were friendly across the board, from reception to room service, and the room was clean and roomy. When the air conditioner wasn’t cooling properly, they switched my room right away. It was a comfortable stay, and shopping centers are nearby. Wi-Fi worked well in the lobby, but I wish it reached every floor.

The security guard was at least nice, but I can’t say the same for the reception service at Mega Anggrek Hotel. My mother was in a lot of pain from her knee, and we waited for the room until 11:50, just ten minutes before check-in time. I asked if we could get in early because of her condition, but Alfi at reception showed no empathy and wouldn’t allow even a ten-minute early check-in. We couldn’t have predicted the situation, and the staff saw her bad knee but didn’t help or even offer her a drink. Think twice if you’re expecting great service from the staff.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, which was about the only redeeming part of my stay. Leaving the hotel on foot was impossible, so we had to take taxis everywhere. My friend ordered room service once and told the rest of us not to eat at the hotel. The place felt strange and eerie, and it looked like it should have been renovated at least 15 years ago. That showed in my room, where only one outlet worked. It also advertises a spa, but there isn’t one.

The room was old-fashioned but reasonably clean. I’d like to see more breakfast choices.
