The room itself was clean, had aromatherapy, and felt comfortable despite having no windows. Wi-Fi was a bit slow and unreliable, though I could still watch videos. They provided two bottles of water, coffee, tea, and a kettle, plus there was a large shared fridge by the shared sink. They didn't bring more water, but I could ask for it. The bathroom and toilet are shared, which is a little inconvenient, but with only two or three rooms on each floor it wasn't a big issue. It's a clean, affordable place, and I'd use it again. A heads-up about access: the entrance stays locked, and you have to swipe your card each time. At check-in, a staff member has to let you in, but there's often nobody at the desk, even during the day, so you could be left waiting a long time. There are two phone numbers at the entrance. Message one through WhatsApp and a staff member should come. It'd be good to set up WhatsApp before you arrive. That can help if you leave the hotel or your room without your key card, too. Be careful after the staff have left, perhaps after 6 PM. If you go out without your card or smartphone, you might not be able to get back into the hotel or your room until the next day. With shared bathrooms and toilets, you'll likely leave your room often, so remember your card even if you're half asleep.

I stayed here on New Year's Eve. It's affordable, compact, and comfortable, and the location is handy for the Old Town, even though it's down an alley. Our twin room for two had AC and a kettle. They supplied two toothbrushes, liquid soap, two bottles of mineral water, coffee, and tea. The floor felt a bit sticky, especially in the shared area, and there were no slippers. The shared space has a dining table, two sinks on each floor, and one bathroom per floor. Remember to keep your access key with you, since the main door is always locked. The receptionist isn't always at the desk, so you need to text them directly to check in. It was a good stay 🫶

It's also near airport access, and Kota Tua is a short walk away. At night, dangdut music outside can get noisy, but inside it was quiet. Mono Coliving Kota Tua is a modern, minimalist place made from small shophouses, with a pretty green garden out front. The property felt new, clean, and well looked after, and it had a homey feel. The price starts from 150k, which seems suitable for longer stays. Access to the front is locked, so only guests can come and go. Amenities were complete, with a large fridge on the 2nd floor, plenty of iced water, unlimited Netflix, and free secure basement parking. We stayed three days and didn't see any information about regular room cleaning, so it got quite sandy. Room 201, which seemed to be just ours, had ants when food was left out. There didn't seem to be a receptionist, but the admin on WhatsApp was very responsive. Check-in is 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM WITA (Confirmation), and check-out is 12:00 PM WITA. It was a pleasure staying here, an interesting experience. 🤍

The room had no windows, and there was no toilet seat, so whenever I showered I wasn't sure where to hang my towel and clothes. The shared toilet was also a downside, though we knew about it when booking. I'd suggest management add a seat belt. It's a small thing, but would really help in the bathroom. Still, for an affordable price, I wasn't disappointed with what we got. The furniture was surprisingly new, the room was clean and smelled nice, the AC worked well and there wasn't much cigarette smoke, the mattress and bedding were soft, the water heater worked, and the amenities were complete. If I need somewhere to stay in Jakarta again, I'd come back.
