Mövenpick Hotel Jakarta City Centre

The pool and gym felt new, were well maintained, and were easy to get to. They never seemed overcrowded. I found the hotel calm and thoughtfully designed, with clean, nicely decorated common areas where it was pleasant to walk around or sit and relax. It has an upscale feel but still feels welcoming, not too formal. My room was a highlight: clean, modern, and well laid out. The bed was very comfortable, and I slept well. I also liked the good lighting, nice bathroom amenities, and how quiet it was despite being in the city. A solid choice for a comfortable, relaxing stay in Jakarta. I’d definitely return.

There were three of us, two adults and a 13-year-old, and we ended up pushing the twin beds together. We got some sleep, but it was only okay, and definitely not comfortable. The room seemed big enough for an extra bed, unless theirs is enormous. I was told they couldn’t add one to my room choice and that I’d have to upgrade for double the price. The app said the room could fit 2-3 people, and as I remember it didn’t mention that an extra bed wasn’t possible. A baby lizard was on one of the pillows when we entered. The staff responded quickly and handled it well, and they moved us to another room. After that, we decided to stay one night instead of three. They granted my request even though the booking couldn’t be cancelled, which I appreciated. It’s a good-value, busy hotel, with places to eat easy to find. Peace and privacy aren’t really available here. Next time I’d personally look for another Accor’s hotel. The app should also explain the extra bed situation more clearly.

The staff I met were friendly and very hospitable, which made my 10-night stay in May 2026 pleasant. This is a new, modern hotel with nice furnishings and three quality restaurants. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of Western and Asian choices. The location is handy too, with a Starbucks two minutes’ walk away and several convenience shops nearby. A few things could be better. I’d requested a non-adjoining room when booking, but at check-in they said there’d be an extra charge. I declined, as I think that fee is unreasonable. My room had no work desk or chair, which isn’t acceptable for an upscale hotel. I raised it with the front desk, and they brought up a table and chair, which helped a lot since I work online away from home. Laundry is available, but VERY expensive. The toilet was awkwardly placed, too close to the wall, and the toilet-roll holder was too close to the bowl. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again if I return to Jakarta.

Breakfast at Ginger Flower was a highlight. There was a diverse selection of fresh, well-prepared food and drinks, with both local and international choices. The room was spacious and comfortable, just the right size, and laid out so everything felt cozy and functional. From arrival, the staff were warm, friendly, and professional. They handled each request efficiently, especially with us bringing a baby, and we felt comfortable and well cared for throughout. A memorable stay. I’d recommend it for comfort, hospitality, and location.
