The housekeeper was diligent, and our room, though a bit old, was clean and smelled fresh apart from the cigarette smoke. I booked this place because it was closest to where I needed to be for a business trip. The no-smoking policy doesn't seem to help, since cigarette smells were everywhere. Management seemed kind of weird, but they did understand once I explained my situation. Thanks for understanding.

People from outside Jakarta, especially eastern Indonesia, seem to like staying here. For me, though, the cigarette smell was everywhere, indoors and out, so it felt like a smokers' haven. The service is Melati standard, so don't expect anything beyond that. It doesn't suit a high-class business man. I'd suggest looking for a chain hotel at a comparable level.

The bed and TV were okay, and the room condition seemed fair for the price. If you book, ask whether it's a smoking or non-smoking room. The toilet in the smoking room smelled bad.

This is an older, classic hotel, with lots of space and a clean, comfortable feel. The service was really good, especially for how cheap it was. I'll definitely stay here again soon.
