Ra Inn Kemang

I keep coming back to Ra Inn Kemang, and the staff now treat me like a regular. It’s comfortable, with spacious rooms and well-maintained bathrooms, and the breakfast is delicious and included. The price is good for what you get. There’s a gym and pool for guests, and there’s usually plenty of parking right out front. The hotel sits inside a secure complex, which is a plus. When I arrive late, considerate staff often text or call to ask if I need anything for the room. Check-in and check-out are always smooth and hassle-free. It’s a peaceful break from Jakarta traffic while still being in a convenient spot in the heart of the city.

I stayed two nights in a Junior Suite Room and really enjoyed it. I also fell for the interior and liked the quiet surroundings, plus the large parking area felt safe. The staff were friendly, but sometimes forgot things I ordered, so I had to ask twice. The sheets and towel were a little dirty, and the cabinet needs attention. The water should be much cleaner. The shampoo and soap smell good, but they don’t really clean my body and hair, so please replace them. The water-heater takes a while to work properly. The TV is flat-screen, but not smart. Sorry for giving this a 2-star rating.

The rooms are very clean and nice, and the food is pretty standard Indonesian fare, rice, vegetables prepared different ways, and a chicken dish such as Singapore style, village style, or katsu style. The Internet is the issue for me. It was top notch the first time I stayed, but on my second visit it was unstable enough to make video calls impossible. Don’t count on doing anything that needs a steady connection. For international food, there’s toast with an undefined yellow, fatty-looking spread they call butter or margarine. The jam tastes like flour with food coloring and flavoring. That’s something Indonesia in general lacks a bit. Still, that’s not really about the hotel itself, so five stars.

The room was spacious, the facilities were great, and I had an amazing one-night stay. Breakfast was okay, though there weren’t many choices, and the service was great too. One thing needs improvement: the FO told me there was a hanger missing from the room. I said HK should check again because I hadn’t taken it, and I even gave permission for them to look in my bag. After 10 minutes, he said it was clear. I don’t know whether HK checked the room properly, but the situation suggests some service could be better. Even with the missing hanger, which I don’t know how it went missing, this hotel is a great choice.
