RedDoorz Plus near Plaza Indonesia

The location was a real plus. Plaza Indonesia is only a short walk away, with plenty of shops, food, and entertainment there. There are also museums, parks, and historic sights nearby. I had a very enjoyable stay at RedDoorz near Plaza Indonesia and would recommend it as a convenient, comfortable base for exploring Jakarta. My room was spacious and clean, with the things I needed. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well in the hot, humid weather. The staff were friendly and helpful with my questions about the area, and their suggestions for local restaurants turned out to be delicious.

The staff were nice, and check-in was quick. I booked at 7 pm and was checked in by 8. My standard double room was a little cramped, but acceptable and homey, with a TV that worked well, a cupboard, table, and chair. There was no mirror. Noise from outside came through clearly and was disturbing, though still tolerable. It felt secure and was a nice place for a couple to stay overnight.

For a business trip, the location worked really well. “Near Plaza Indonesia” turned out to mean just a few meters behind PI. There are lots of food stalls for cheap meals, Lawson is a 3-4 minute walk away, and the place was easy to find on the map app and reach by online transport. The room was quite large for this price compared with other RedDoorz Plus. There was a TV, refrigerator, cupboard, and tall mirror, plus a water heater in the bathroom, which some RedDoorz at this price don't have. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest, but it was okay. The outside door to the separate building had an automatic lock; the receptionist was really nice and explained how it worked. No elevator. They provided two 600 ml bottles of water, but no cups, which was fine for me. There wasn't much else to mention about the service. The blanket was the big letdown. They gave us one thin, undersized blanket, probably only 100 cm x 100 cm, which was nowhere near enough for me at 180 cm tall. It was especially disappointing because the bed should be a basic part of a place to stay. I also found a few long hairs on the bed that hadn't been cleaned up thoroughly. The key was an analog one, which concerned me. If they upgraded the blanket, this could probably be my favorite RedDoorz in this price range. I've stayed at many different RedDoorz, and this was the first time I'd been given a separate blanket that was too small.

There are lots of nearby food choices, from fried chicken, satay, and noodles to convenience stores such as Lawson and Indomaret. The MRT is about a 10-minute walk away. For boarding, this RedDoorz is decent, and the price seems reasonable, especially given how close it is to Plaza Indonesia.
