RedDoorz Plus near Semanggi

The staff, especially in the property division, were very friendly. From the rooftop there are good views of Jakarta’s skyline, and the automatic coffee maker made delicious coffee. The rooftop canteen wasn’t operating, though. The location is strategic, close to Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, malls, convenience stores, printing centers, a park, and Semanggi Road. Some facilities need attention. The water flow was weak, the shower was either too hot or too cold, and there was a lot of dust under the bed. The hotel could be better given how well located it is.

There wasn’t a welcoming feel at all. When I first arrived, there was a cockroach in the elevator, and instead of cleaning it up, a staff member told me to ignore it. That confirmed my impression that hygiene was poor. The reception situation was confusing, the hallway was so dark it felt tacky, and one of the room lights was broken. Checkout was confusing too, since reception was no longer on the 4th floor.

Getting there by car was difficult because the hotel is down a narrow alley, so be careful if you have a larger vehicle. In the room, the toilet was very dirty, there were lots of insects, and under the bed was like an insect graveyard. The water flow was weak and cold. The shampoo and soap were empty, and a lightbulb was dead when I arrived. It still hadn’t been fixed when I returned.

It’s cheap and close to attractions like Gelora Bung Karno and malls such as Pasific Place, Senayan City, Plaza Senayan, and Grand Indonesia. Trans Jakarta and the MRT are nearby too. On the downside, I couldn’t use the lift, the room smelled a bit, there was no shower gel or shampoo, and there were lots of mosquitoes. The shower water pressure wasn’t very strong either.
