The lounges and general atmosphere are great for meeting people, whether you’re having drinks with other guests or playing pool in the lobby. The location is handy too, with trains and taxis easy to get to. Breakfast is included and filling, and there’s a rooftop boxing and workout area beside the bar. The rooms are decent, but nothing fancy. I had some cracked, exposed concrete beside my bed. It looked bad, but didn’t affect my sleep.

The receptionist was great when we arrived and gave us information. We called the scooter company she suggested, but they had no scooters available. When we spoke with the owner, she was curt and rude. She later replied to my friend’s review with claims that were completely false, including that there are no scooter rentals in Jakarta, that Jakarta is super dangerous for scooters, and that we’d been rude to reception. None of that is true. Jakarta is much safer than many other countries where we’ve rented scooters, there are plenty of rental companies, and we eventually found a great one without help from the owner. We were never rude to the receptionist, who was lovely. The owner’s attitude ruined the experience, and I feel sorry for the staff, who were all nice. I have no idea how she got so many good reviews, maybe she buys them. Her replies to negative reviews say a lot about her. Awful experience, never again. I’ll leave feedback on every platform I can and encourage my friend to do the same. There are better options, stay away from this place.

The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in, and the rooftop bar and common rooms are great. I booked a dorm but got a private room at no extra charge. If I’m in Jakarta again, I’d definitely stay here.

A great atmosphere at this hostel, with helpful staff who give excellent travel advice for Jakarta and beyond. There’s a TV for movies, plus a rooftop bar with really low prices. It has to be one of the best hostels in Jakarta.
