Sriwijaya Hotel by OYO Rooms

The location was the only good thing. I found a bug in my drink, there was mold in the bathroom and a stain on the bedsheets, and the electrical socket was completely broken. The whole place smelled musty, probably because it’s so old and historical. That might not bother you if that’s what you’re looking for.

There’s nothing impressive about an old hotel, but the price is very reasonable.

If our team comes, we could rent a VIP room here. The place is great, tidy, cozy, and comfortable.

The hotel has a relaxed old-world charm, and vintage fans will like its solid, polished old wooden furniture. It completed 150 years of existence in 2024. The rooms are comfortable, though if you look closely, some could use a bit of TLC. It’s a good-value place to stay if you rely on Jakarta public transport. Juanda railway station is close by, along with the busway and city buses. Istiqlal mosque is right behind the hotel, with the Cathedral also nearby. Both are a 5-10 minute walk, and MONAS is within walking distance too. The room rates are good value. The receptionists are friendly, and housekeeping does a good job. There’s a small restaurant on site. I’ve only tried breakfast once. The food is tasty, and while the selection isn’t large, it’s enough and great value for money. The property is eco friendly, with hot water from solar heaters, so you may need to let the tap run for a few minutes before it warms up.
