The owner’s daughter seems to care only about the money. She ignores tenants’ well-being, and has a reputation nearby for driving people out with how she treats them. She gets angry over anything, even your presence, though you’ve paid the rent. The security officer seems to lack the skills to protect or help, and there’s just one person covering security for the whole year. There’s also only one office boy for the entire building and year. The building itself feels old, rusty, dark, empty, and scary. The floors smell strange, the facilities and atmosphere are dreadful, and the lift made me feel like I was risking my life. Bringing a car is a daily parking nightmare. I was tempted by the very cheap rent, but regretted it as soon as I stepped inside. For your own good, choose somewhere else to stay or rest in this area unless you’re looking for all those problems. Regards.

The complex is in a handy spot, with Pondok Indah mall to the west and Kemang to the east, both just a heartbeat away. According to the Jakarta Territory distribution map, it’s called Terogong or Cilandak Barat, though it feels like the heart of Pondok Indah. Food and entertainment are easy to find: Satu lagi bar is right in front if you don’t want to go far, and there’s Fatburger on the main street, Loversters shack, and Ladah putih restaurant. Hero supermarket covers the basics, while Papaya is there if you’re in the mood for something a little oriental. The apartments themselves are reasonably priced for a studio or two-bedroom. It’s not as upscale as the Hamptons, but it’s good enough.

They made me pay at least RP 60.000 per night extra at the hotel. They said I couldn’t check in otherwise, and wouldn’t refund what I’d paid through the app. Avoid this hotel, it’s a scam.
