The pool was decent, with an older look, and there’s also a mini zoo, tennis court, and playground. Breakfast offered plenty of variety and empty dishes were topped up quickly, though the jamu sachets weren’t replenished. I stayed for two nights over Eid. The room was spacious and comfortable, but the building is old. The service felt inconsistent: there was no floor mat or hand towel unless we asked, and the welcome drink only arrived on the second day, as a single sachet. Housekeeping and reception gave different answers about it, so procedures don’t seem very consistent. The sink was badly clogged and still hadn’t been fixed by day two. I didn’t specifically ask for a repair, but it was bad enough that housekeeping should have noticed while cleaning. They replaced just one toothpaste even though we’d asked for more, and the hand towel wasn’t replaced either. In general, service was decent, but room amenities weren’t provided consistently.

The breakfast team made me want to return to SunLake hotel. I especially want to recognize Ibu Anna, Bapak Andri S, Bapak Halim dan Ibu Nadia for how attentive and caring they were with guests. The management should give them a special reward for their dedication. It’s a family-friendly hotel, and the staff were friendly and capable at their jobs. I’d definitely stay here again because of them.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sunlake Hotel and would happily come back. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, and the breakfast was delicious with a varied, complete spread. We even got to use the tennis court at night. We’d recommend staying here.

The bathroom was a dealbreaker: there was black mold in the shower, and the toilet didn’t look clean. The room itself seemed dirty too, as if they’d only changed the sheets between guests. Even the air conditioning was weak. For a hotel listed as five stars on Google, the cleanliness felt like one star. We booked a deluxe executive room for eight nights, and the reservation was non-refundable, but we couldn’t face staying even one night. The sixth floor smelled musty as soon as we stepped out of the elevator, and our room smelled of mildew. They offered to move us, but I had a feeling the other rooms would be the same, so we accepted the loss and booked elsewhere. I’d seen plenty of good reviews, so expected better. If you’re arriving from a long trip, especially from abroad, I don’t think this place will feel comfortable.
