Wonderful 2BR at Callia Apartment

The IPL, or maintenance/condo fee, feels high for the limited services. Parking is overflowing, the lobbies are plain, and half the elevators are out of order. The working ones move very slowly. The pool is on the ground floor in the middle of the parking lot, which is a terrible setup. A rooftop pool and gym, with parking underground, would have made more sense. There’s a strong, unpleasant smell from the polluted canal right in front, and traffic noise gets into the rooms around the clock. The apartments also seem poorly built, with leaks, rough edges, and uneven surfaces. The location does have its benefits: transit and main roads are close, there’s a mall across the street, and several others are nearby.

There are six elevator shafts split between different groups of floors, and the security staff are courteous enough. Cleaning is done daily, though there’s barely any covered parking, so keep that in mind. It’s a decent apartment, about 42-45 stories tall if you count the unnumbered floors, with one, two, or three bedroom layouts.

More towers, shops, and an office complex are planned for later expansion. The building itself looks oddly thin, and I wonder if strong winds or an earthquake could make it topple. I’m no construction expert, though.

Wow, this place should get noticed. It’s right in front of the transjakarta bus shelter and beside the LRT station. Manggarai train station is about 15 minutes away, which isn’t bad.
