OYO 3457 Hotel Duta

Hotel Duta is right in the middle of Jambi Market, surrounded by shops and places to eat. It has free WiFi, free return airport transfers, free parking, luggage storage, an airport shuttle, and a 24-hour front desk. The on-site restaurant serves Indonesian food. Jambi Botanical Garden and Sultan Thaha Airport are about a 15-minute drive away. Rooms have a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and a minibar. There's also a refrigerator and electric kettle in the dining area, while the private bathroom has a shower, free toiletries, and slippers. Cable channels are available too.

The room was terribly cramped, with no window, and felt like living in a container. There wasn't enough floor space to pray unless you did it on your own bed. The bathroom was old, dirty, and so tiny that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who's fat. The meal was awful too. The fruit tasted of onion, as if they hadn't wiped the knife after cutting onions, and they served it with their bare hands. It felt so dirty, and I wouldn't stay here if I wanted to avoid getting diarrhea. The staff were quite rude and unhelpful.

The hotel feels damp and already looks old, even though it had only been open for a few years. Maintenance seems poor. I even came across a couple of small cockroaches in the bathroom.

It's right in the city center, which made getting around easy. The place was good and clean, though the ballroom wasn't ready yet at the time.
