A nice place to stay.

I booked after looking at the hotel photos and didn't check other people's reviews first. The lobby looks nice, with a kind of European design, but the yellowish water has visible particles in it. To me, clean water is a basic requirement for a hotel, and this really missed the mark. It put me off taking photos here. The parking area is too small, and some bathroom fixtures are broken. The drinking water left in the room costs extra, with an added charge at check-in. There seem to be many people coming here because it's free, though. When I went down to the car at night to get my laptop, I saw a lot of "jablay" around, if you know what I mean 😅.

After checking in and seeing the rooms, I left right away for another hotel. I'd already paid and checked in for two rooms, and the 550,000 Rupiah deposit couldn't be refunded. I'd rather lose the money than spend the night there. The photos on the app didn't match what I found at Hotel Jambi Raya. The bathroom was filthy and rusty, especially the shower head, the room smelled and hadn't been cleaned, and the bedcovers and blankets were very yellow. The hallway from the dark, unlit lobby to the room looked neglected. It was also hard to find for someone new to Jambi. The place is off the main road and difficult to reach, and its location doesn't match the one on Google. We had to ask local residents for directions. Management hasn't made a good faith effort to correct the address on Google. Anyone thinking of staying may want to reconsider. I hope management fixes these problems so guests aren't left out of pocket. Thank you.
