New Bandengan Beach Hotel

The hotel is right on the beach, though this isn't a white sand beach. You have to walk another 10 minutes to reach one with white sand. The location was great, and it was just a three minute walk down to the beach. We stayed one quiet weekday night, with birds chirping from the small woods in front of the hotel. Mr. Bagas greeted us at reception. Our room was okay and clean, with cold AC, a working water heater, a normal TV, and a refrigerator, handy for a beach hotel. Service was okay, though I got the impression there weren't many workers, maybe because it was a weekday. For the price, it's a good hotel, though it could use a little maintenance. The mushola was a bit dirty and dusty, with no prayer mat or anything.

The place itself is nice, but it needs major improvement. The manager was unfriendly and blamed guests for mistakes. The water quality was very poor, it smelled strange, didn't seem clean, and felt oily. The hotel offered food choices, then the next day the manager complained that guests shouldn't make many requests because ingredients were hard to find. Housekeeping seemed too lazy to clean around the hotel, and the bed cover felt odd and dusty. They need to improve the service.

You can see the sea from the balcony, and Bandengan beach is only five minutes away. The road is very dark at night, though. It's a nice place, but walking to the district and Kartini port takes too long.

It's close to Bandengan beach, but getting food was difficult and the city center is a bit far away. This was my first stay here, and it didn't live up to what I expected. The facilities also didn't match what was listed on Traveloka.
