Maha Residence Guest House

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It was very loud, the bed was the worst we had in Bali, and the bathroom needs repairs, with insects able to get in through the roof. There was no hot water, and despite asking at least ten times, nothing was done to fix it. We’d requested a double bed a month ahead, but my parents ended up with two beds of different sizes. The receptionist wasn’t helpful, and the whole response felt unprofessional. For this price, I think you can definitely find somewhere better.

The beach nearby was one of the best I’ve ever seen, and the centre is quite close too. I’d come back, though the construction at the guesthouses they’re expanding did start noisily in the morning. Otherwise, the place was calm, very clean and comfortable, and they brought us a gorgeous breakfast.

The bathroom was the standout, with an open rooftop view, a bathtub and a rain shower. The room itself was very clean, and the whole place had a warm, homely feel. The woman looking after us was friendly, attentive and understanding throughout our stay. I’d come back if I visit Bali again.

It’s cheaper, but the hotel is still under construction and needs time to be finished. Maybe it’ll be better to stay next year. The location is a long way out, so you’ll need to rent a motorbike.
