OYO 3914 Vivaldi @ Jimbaran

I spent a month here and really enjoyed how calm and quiet it was. I could properly relax in the silence of my room, and the staff were VERY FRIENDLY and WELCOMING. The cooking facilities were ready to use, with a refrigerator, chiller, and stove, so I only had to buy ingredients.

The hotel was lovely and quiet, and my room was great. Unfortunately, the location wasn't good.

The courtyard and pool area look beautiful, and the atmosphere is inviting, which makes the state of the rooms all the more disappointing. The bathrooms have no ventilation, as other reviews have mentioned, so the walls get soaked and everything smells musty, especially in the bathroom. The towels and sheets were stained, moldy, and rotting. They really should be replaced. There were also far more mosquitoes inside than outside when we arrived. For the first time on our trip through Southeast Asia, we had to go to a supermarket for mosquito spray, fumigate the room, use room spray to cover the smell, and sleep in our sleeping bags. That helped, but it's such a pity.

The shared kitchen was open to guests and the outdoor pool area was well kept. The location was okay too, set back from JB's busy main road. Our room was a letdown. It was very damp and smelled almost unbearable whenever we came in, so we had to leave the doors and windows open for a while. The pillows were past their best and seemed to be where most of the smell came from. The owner should replace the hotel's towels and bedding, instead of staff handing out brown, stained sheets. Our room wasn't cleaned at all during our four-night stay. That's pretty disgusting, especially since guests are told not to put paper down the toilet and to use a bin instead.
