Muaya Villa

The staff are friendly, the villa is spacious, the location is decent, and it offers good value for money. The one-bedroom villa’s pool is quite small, though, so it may not suit anyone hoping for a proper swim. There are also some clear design issues with the bathroom. The door has a big gap against the frame, so AC air escapes into the bathroom. There are sizable holes in the bathroom wall, possibly for ventilation, and the cool air doesn’t stay in the bedroom. It flows out through the door gap and the wall holes, making the AC very inefficient.

The private pool is quite big, and the bath was really good. The villa itself is great, but the service was the highlight. Everyone was so kind, and because it was my wife’s birthday, they surprised us with a small cake at breakfast. I’d definitely recommend it.

We booked this for our last two days before flying home, hoping for somewhere cozy and relaxing. I’ve stayed in several places around Bali, all with greenery, but this one felt like a prison to me. We changed our plans and left the room to spend our last day elsewhere. I’d suggest paying a bit more for somewhere nicer. The doors between rooms had seen better days and wouldn’t close properly, letting in insects and heat. What was provided was basic: there was no bar of soap, only a dispenser in the shower, and no separate towels for drying hands or using the plunge pool. On the second day they asked if we wanted cleaning and we said yes, but it didn’t seem like anything was done. They hadn’t even replaced the toilet paper, so we had to go to reception for it.

I checked in on the night of 15th jan, and I already miss this beautiful place. Our flat was delayed, so we couldn’t arrive in the afternoon as planned. I let the owner know, and he arranged things for us. He was very friendly and accommodating, as were all the staff. I was impressed as soon as I entered the room. It was spacious and had a lovely feel, with nice romantic honeymoon decorations. The bed was so comfortable that I fell asleep easily, and there was a nice private pool too. I also had a massage there, which was very enjoyable and reasonably priced. The villa can help book a taxi or rent a scooter, making it convenient to get around. I have no complaints at all and would really recommend this place. We made lots of beautiful memories here.
