Villa Margarita

I spent a month at Margarita Villa with friends while working remotely, and it was splendid. The housekeeper Kadek was always helpful and kept the villa tidy. She’s the best housekeeper I’ve had at a villa. Each room is spacious and has its own bathroom and toilet, and the outdoor showers are great. The villa has what you need for everyday living, including a well-equipped kitchen where you can make a full dinner. There’s a local market about five minutes away by scooter, though we mostly ordered through Grab during our afternoon and evening work. Internet was good by Bali standards, but with six people working online at once, we had to use our mobile hotspots. The villa is in Jimbaran, which isn’t the liveliest part of Uluwatu. One advantage is it’s easier to reach northern areas like Ubud. The closest beach is Jimbaran beach, with lots of good fish and seafood restaurants.

I stayed here for three months, and it was excellent. The house is in a safe area and quiet at night, with no uneasy feeling, and many places are within reach. The hosts can share local information, help with SIM cards and bike or car rentals, do laundry, and help if you have trouble ordering food on local apps. The pool is fantastic, and the layout and breeze keep the house cooler than many others in Bali. There’s plenty of room and storage, and it feels private. The beds are very comfortable, the water pressure and temperature are great, and the kitchen is nicely equipped with a great fridge, lovely china, glassware and cutlery. Cooking here feels good if you want to.

A wonderful villa up on Jimbaran. The host and villa manager really go above and beyond. I’d highly recommend it for families or groups.

I stayed here eight years ago and thought the villa was nice. I changed my rating to one star because the owner says my review is fake.
