My friend and I felt like we were staying with family at Nurbata Homestay. It's a no-frills place where you live like a local, and their hospitality more than makes up for the lack of Western comforts. They brought us coffee, tea, and fruit they picked each day, and since we couldn't ride scooters, they drove us to and from Kuta, about ten minutes away. They taught my friend to use a scooter and let her use it during the week. On our last night, they made us a home-cooked dinner. I'd recommend it!
The family dinner with everyone on our last night was a lovely way to wrap up our three-night stay. My friend and I got to learn more about Lombok, its culture, and local life, and we really felt like part of the family. They were generous and so helpful, picking us up from Kuta and the beach, and even teaching me to ride a scooter. Coffee, tea, and fruit were ready for us every morning. One of the highlights of our trip!
The rooms were clean and had air conditioning, and the family made our stay one of the best experiences in Lombok. They're warm, friendly, and funny. Breakfast isn't included, but they always ask whether you'd like tea or coffee, and if you sit and chat, they'll bring out local fruit. I learned a lot about Indonesian culture and language. Ebun doesn't speak English fluently yet, but he's keen to learn; his Google Translate app helps us communicate, and he understands most things in English. I fully recommend the hostel and getting to know the family.
The way the whole family welcomed us made the place feel like home. They shared their time, conversation, and even typical Lombok coffee with us. The fruit was incredible, so fresh and full of flavor, unlike any I’ve had before. They’re truly lovely people. Thanks, family, for making us feel special and inviting us to your table.
Suhaibun made arriving early on check-in day easy and let me into the room without an extra charge. The place was clean and comfortable, with air conditioning and a shower with strong water pressure. He also rents motorbikes, which came in handy for getting around Kuta, and shared plenty of ideas for things to do nearby. He even took me to Bukit Merese to watch the sunset. His English isn’t perfect, but he said he enjoys chatting with tourists to improve it. You can see how much effort he puts into welcoming guests. He also told me he built the homestay in honor of his father, who passed away five years ago. That meant a lot to hear. It’s about five minutes outside Kuta, and a comfortable stay at a good price.
