Baliwid Villa Ubud

We’re budget travelers and wanted one night of rest with a little more luxury. The welcome drink was delicious, the pool was clean and just the right temperature, and I loved the outdoor bathroom. It’s very quiet because the place is in the middle of nowhere, so you’ll need a scooter or driver. Breakfast was included and pretty good. Our room didn’t have the table and chairs on the deck that some other rooms had, and the second bed wasn’t comfortable at all.

It was lovely bringing my family to this real Balinese village. We enjoyed the room, and the Warung restaurant has a good range of food at fair prices. They also sell beautiful carvings that people clearly care about.

The Warung Restaurant is right by the entrance to beautiful Samampan waterfall. The staff were great, and the food, coffee, and cocktails were all good. Buying something meaningful there gives you access to the pool. I liked it so much that I came back for lunch on my way out of Ubud.

The owner, Wayyun, treats you like family. He included us in traditional village ceremonies and even invited us to his home, while the staff went out of their way to help. The setting feels like an authentic Balinesian village, close to the bustle of Ubud center. We stayed with three kids and everyone had a great time. The pool is great, rooms are spotless, and the restaurant food is delicious. A waterfall is just behind the hotel, with another amazing one a 10-minute walk away. The rooms have unbelievable open roof bathrooms where you can see the stars while showering, and there are lots of restaurants within walking distance.
