Grand Miami Hotel

We only had a single night here because we were short on time during our motorbike trip. I would’ve stayed longer if I could. The place is modern, clean, roomy, and very affordable, with brilliant staff. It’s the best hotel we’ve stayed at so far in East Java.

The room service food and drinks were tasty and fairly priced, and the room had a balcony looking out over rice fields. It’s spacious, and the rate feels reasonable for a hotel outside the city. Trains run very close by, but the soundproofing kept them from being too disruptive. The exterior looks dated and could use an update. Still, I love this hotel. It’s a nice weekend break from busy days. Thanks.

Breakfast had a good range for different tastes, and the coffee was lovely. We also ate dinner at the restaurant, where everything we ordered was tasty and came in a good portion. Just make sure the regular latte is made without sugar. Staff were polite and nice. Our room felt modern and very comfortable, with a generously wide bed. The shower pressure was strong, and it had both a rain shower and a regular shower tap. The two complimentary water bottles are eco friendly, though too small for me. A 600 ml bottle would be better. The hotel has a decent pool, a kids’ pool with nice nonslip stairs, and a warm baby pool, which was a thoughtful touch. I spotted a few ants near the headboard, so please keep up the cleanliness. I hope the hotel stays well maintained over the next 5-10 years. There are also some huge, grand, almost kingdom style chairs and tables, including one by the lift and another in the restaurant. A good choice for seeing Malang and nearby areas. It first opened in mid 2022, so everything still feels relatively new. All the best, Grand Miami!

Leo, the general manager, and the rest of the staff went out of their way to help us with everything we needed. The buffet breakfast had a great selection of traditional Indonesian and Western food. Our Miami Suite was clean, stylish, and just what I’d expect from a five star hotel. The hotel is only a couple of years old, feels like a hidden gem, and is in a perfect location. I’d highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Malang, and I’ll definitely stay again. Well done!
