Hotel YNO Castle Kepanjen

The hotel is still being renovated, but the service was good, and the receptionist was warm and friendly. It’s one of the good hotels in Kepanjen, Malang district. They should put a hot water dispenser on every floor.

I was sick on the way home from Lumajang, so I stopped here for the night. The room was clean, though not well ventilated. Breakfast was below par, but there’s a coffee shop downstairs that serves good coffee.

The room carpets were filthy and stained, with a bad smell, and the staff didn’t seem to know much about customer service. We were told only two rooms were available, and they showed us a couple that were disgusting. Why would I sleep there? After we decided to look for another hotel, the night front office guy suddenly said there were other rooms we could see. Why didn’t he show those first instead of wasting our time? We looked at what they called a better room. It was cleaner, but the pillow was too big, and the fridge wasn’t cool at all. There was a stain on the carpet that looked like blood. Eewwwww! In a tropical place, with staff who seem to know little about cleaning carpets, the hotel should use tiles instead. If you come here, ask for the suite or you’ll be sleeping in filth. I don’t think this place deserves four stars, maybe two if it’s lucky. Will we stay here again? NOOOOOOOO NEVER!! One star from us!

The Superior Room was a comfortable size and had enough storage, and the hot water was clean and came through with good pressure. I stayed for one night. Breakfast was decent, with limited choices but good taste.
