Aloft by Marriott Bali Seminyak

Our room was cleaned to a high standard every day, and the staff were exceptionally polite and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was a real highlight, with tasty, healthy choices and plenty of variety across the buffet and a la carte options. The beautiful rooftop pool and its views made a lovely place to relax. The security team were especially helpful, ready to guide us across the busy road or stop traffic when we were on a scooter. The main drawback was the hotel’s position by a main road. Traffic noise came through into the room all the time, so sitting on the balcony wasn’t enjoyable. That’s hard to fix. Even so, we had a great stay and would recommend the hotel, especially for people planning to spend their days exploring.

Our two adjoining rooms worked well for our family of four, two adults and two teenage kids. Both were spacious and kept up well with daily maintenance. We enjoyed the gym and poolside restaurant, and used the hotel taxi for local sightseeing. There are a couple of good places to eat and shopping marts near the hotel. Seminyak beach is nearby too, though unfortunately we didn’t think it was worth visiting. For a beachfront stay, we’d suggest the Nusa Dua area.

The staff at reception and in the restaurant were so warm, courteous, and welcoming. The rooms and hotel were spotless, everything felt fresh, and breakfast had a great range to choose from. We had a wonderful stay at Aloft Seminyak and would highly recommend it.

Things have got worse since my earlier experience. The outside is loud and dirty, with a lot of road noise, and bugs were a problem. At the front desk, agents were dismissive when I raised concerns. I wanted to leave a good review, but after several bad service experiences I couldn’t. Breakfast wasn’t very good, and staff made it hard to get basic requests handled. There can also be noise from higher floors and outside, as others have mentioned. They tried to charge extra for services that should have been included, and I didn’t find the location very good.
