Aqua Bali Villa

Julie, madi, and the rest of the staff looked after me and my two daughters like family. As a single father, I felt they made this quiet little place into a safe, welcoming community. You only find that in a location like this.

We had roomy bedrooms with large beds, storage, and a fridge/freezer, and most things were clean and tidy. The pool was gorgeous, the paths were cute, and the room was serviced daily. Everyone on staff was lovely, smiling as they gave recommendations and helped with everything we asked. The showers could use a proper scrub, and the safe didn’t work, though once we’d locked the room we didn’t feel we needed it. We’d definitely stay again and recommend it.

For the price, it was decent, with a nice pool and friendly staff. It’s tucked away and quiet, but you’ll need a scooter or other transport to get around. Check-in had a few problems, which they sorted out pretty quickly. The safe had a low battery, so they gave me the master key. Housekeeping hadn’t prepared the bed well: the sheets had dirt and hair on them, with a piece of plastic between them. Staff came and changed everything, but the bedding and towels also had stains and seem due for replacement. The room was spacious, with a fridge, HBO, and English TV. Check the door locks, since some don’t work properly and may not latch even when you think they have. I’d give it 6 out of 10 for the money. I’ve since moved to a nicer, more central villa for less money, with a more modern setup and breakfast included.

I checked out the same morning I arrived because the place was so unlivable. I was very disappointed that the hotel offered no compensation. It was fully booked, and they told me there could be no refund because of the no-cancellation policy. The safety and cleanliness problems were glaring. The sliding balcony door wouldn’t lock, leaving a public walkway leading right to the balcony and a possible way in. The glass shower door hinges looked close to falling out, creating a risk of serious injury. There were stains on the pillowcase, lizard droppings on the bed, and a filthy bathtub. The jacuzzi couldn’t be used either, as only hot water came from the tap. Avoid this hotel.
