Casa Donilo

One of the rooms was a nightmare, full of gnats and tiny flies. Walking in felt like stepping into a jungle shack. When we raised it, the owners and staff said it was normal for Bali and the season. I’ve lived here for years, and that didn’t seem normal to me, especially for a villa at this price with daily cleaning. That excuse might work at a cheap hostel, but not here. The pool kept turning green and smelling like a swamp, so it was unusable. The sheets and pillows were stained, and we had to beg for days to get them changed. Things kept breaking throughout our stay. We paid over $10,000 a month and got dirt, no hygiene, constant problems, and rude, useless management. The staff would say they’d tell someone or check, then nothing happened. Asking for basic service made us feel like a burden, while the owners hid behind the staff and did nothing to fix things. The photos looked great, but the real place was filthy, buggy, with a disgusting pool and complete indifference for a luxury-level price. This was a complete scam. If you’re thinking of booking, don’t. Save yourself the stress and disappointment.

The staff were great and quick to respond. They even helped arrange scooters for five days and had them delivered to the villa. It’s a lovely place to relax, and I had an amazing stay. I’ll come back next time.

The garden was REALLY HUGE, with a pool to match, and my daughter loved it. I haven’t seen many villas in Berawa with a garden this big. We stayed for a week, and the experience went well beyond what I expected. The location was unbelievable, less than five minutes from the nearest beach and six minutes from Finn’s and Atlas Beach Club. There are lots of great restaurants nearby too, more than 20 I could name. We had professional staff to look after our needs, and the host was very friendly. Everyone was helpful. We had a super nice stay and would definitely choose Casa Donilo again when we’re in Bali.
