Laki Uma Villa

I booked one of the biggest rooms, with plenty of space, a huge bed, and a balcony. The Wi-Fi and air conditioning were good, and I spent three nice nights here before heading to Ubud and the temples. It’s not new or luxurious, but it felt like good value. The staff were extremely nice, especially David, thank you! A calm, casual, home-like place with only a few rooms and no crowds. It’s good for relaxing, meeting people, or keeping to yourself. Being nude by the pool and around the place was cool.

There’s nothing special about this quiet guest house. The beds are comfortable, and the staff are cordial, though not especially eager to help. The building seems a little run down, the room curtains are torn, and the shower water never gets hot. They don’t serve food or drinks, apart from free coffee and tea, so bring your own beverages if you want something by the pool.

I came back for a week at the start and end of my last trip to Indonesia, after deciding at the last minute that I wanted a relaxing holiday. David and Mehmet are engaging, friendly hosts, and the textile-free setting is peaceful. I could read quietly or spend time with the other guests. It feels like a warm, happy place, and I felt lucky to be welcomed into it. The private rooms are spacious and well kept. I ended up in a dorm because I booked at the last minute, and it was better than I expected. If you’re a nudist or curious about trying it, give it a go.

The villa and crew were lovely. I had fun staying in the dormitory, though its toilet could use a bit more cleaning, and the pool needs more attention too. The rest was nice and clean.
