NIKINIKO Beach House by Lolavillas - 100mts to the beach

The room was good for the price. I just wish there were more than a sheet on the bed for comfort. A noisy neighbor came through the thin wall for the last two nights, though the first two were really relaxing. It's tucked away from the main street, with the beach and minimarts a short walk away. Staff and locals were very friendly.

A handy place to cool off before heading home. There’s shade and a nice breeze, and it’s good value when the humidity is intense and you’re worn out from walking in the heat all day.

I left this stay thoroughly upset, and would urge anyone considering the owner's properties to think carefully about hygiene, comfort, safety, and basic peace of mind. I had known the owner for over a year, but his attitude changed completely. The room's water tank had algae in it, which I drank before noticing. I then got Bali belly, paid my own medical costs, and the owner accepted no responsibility. When I returned from a short absence, some belongings I'd left behind were gone. He said the dog had eaten or destroyed them and gave me scraps of clothing. Sunscreen, face masks, hair oil, and loose clothes seem like an oddly selective dog's menu. Sanitation was poor even while I was away briefly during the lease. After I came back, cockroaches kept appearing in the bathroom day after day, even after I killed them. I dealt with more than 15 myself. It was stressful and upsetting enough that I couldn't get a good night's sleep. I was also promised a year lease, but two months before it ended, the owner told me I had to move out a week early for “deep cleaning.” I felt shortchanged. I asked him to take care of things like the lighting and a broken chair, but nothing was fixed during my stay, making it uncomfortable.

Good value for a place close to the beach. The rooms could use some freshening up.
