Pelangi 148 Beach Suites Cottage

We booked Unit Fajar through Airbnb and stayed for almost a month as a small family, two adults and a baby. With so many rental scams around, we wanted to use a site we trusted. We also wanted to avoid relying on a moped or car, especially with the baby, and this location made that possible. There are four units in all, and ours was in a handy spot between Seminyak and Canggu, very close to Berawa. Restaurants, spas and convenience stores were walkable, and there’s a beach nearby. The apartment has two very large bedrooms and plenty of space. I think it would still be comfortable for four or five adults. The living room is roomy with a nice layout, and the house gets lots of natural light. There’s air conditioning throughout, including the living room. Since many Bali villas have open living areas and bedroom entrances outside the house, that setup suited us with a baby. The kitchen has a gas stove, and they replaced the gas for free whenever it ran out. Filtered water was provided for the whole stay. Staff were friendly, quick to reply by text and helpful when we had questions. They cleaned almost daily, changed towels and took out the trash. The Wi-Fi was fast enough for working from home, and each of the four suites has its own router. The price was good compared with other villas and apartments nearby. It was quiet, with no construction going on and calm neighbors. There were some issues. We found mold on the ceilings in both bedrooms. I told the staff, and they cleaned and covered it in the following days. The kitchen sink also kept backing up; staff tried to fix it each time, but it still clogged, so I think it needs a plumber to solve it for good. The place is old, though still livable and quite nice. Even with those drawbacks, the staff communicated well and tried to sort things out as quickly as possible.
