I still think of this as home, and it was one of the best places I lived in Bali. Over the two years I was there, the team kept improving the hotel, repainting rooms and helping with whatever came up. Ari and his staff were supportive and dealt with problems right away. I’m a demanding guest, but they were always available. The hotel belongs to a kind Balinese family, who looked after us guests especially well during COVID. There are reports about cleanliness, water pumps, and soundproofing. It may not be perfect, but that’s Bali in general unless you’re staying at Kempinski or Mulia. I’ve lived in plenty of places around the island. What stood out here was feeling genuinely safe. A thief once got into my villa in Umalas through an open bathroom, so that mattered to me. There’s handy parking, a lovely property, stylish rooms, and breakfast can be ordered to your bed by WhatsApp while you wash your face. Everything you need is walkable, the ocean is three minutes away, and it’s all right in the center. You can ask for fresh towels and bed linen, and we did. There’s a great laundry across the street that can bring clothes right to your room. If you arrive at night, tell Ari and the staff on duty will meet you. I don’t know another hotel like this with that level of service.

After staying here for an extended time, I left feeling as if I were saying goodbye to friends. The staff are some of the kindest, friendliest people I’ve met, and the hotel really felt like home. The garden is beautiful and carefully maintained by a dedicated gardener, with a peaceful outdoor pool in the middle. The beach is only a one-minute walk away. Granary deserves a mention too: the food is consistently delicious, and the coffee is among the best in the area. I’ll definitely return, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I spent two years here, and it became my home. The staff felt like a second family, from the attentive maids and manager to the careful gardener. The cappuccino is delicious, too. It’s one minute from the ocean, the store is ten seconds away, and there’s always somewhere to park. I can’t wait to see everyone again. I recommend this place to everyone.

The Puri Uma Ratu team was so kind, and the food at the Granary Café was really good. This was easily the best hotel I’d booked in Bali over the last few months. It felt like home ☺️☺️. The location is great, near the beach and in Canggu, with everything you need around it.
