Amerta Sari Hotel & Restaurant

The owner is really friendly and the view is breathtaking, but the downsides outweigh those positives by far. There were lots of flies in the room and hallway, and without carpeting it was torture to walk barefoot. The bathroom floor was always wet and smelled unpleasant. The noise insulation was inadequate too, I could clearly hear the couple in the next room, which was quite unpleasant. Breakfast is served at 9 am. I waited almost an hour for a barely palatable plate of fried rice, while they prioritized foreign tourists over local guests.

We arrived very late in our campervan, and Gushti, the chef, welcomed us and did everything with such a generous spirit. The fresh home-cooked food was some of the best we had in Bali, including locally sourced grilled fish from the lake below. It was great to know we were contributing to local wages. In the morning, the sunrise, the lake below, and Mount Baturn were breathtaking. A really good stop, and I’d give it more than five stars if I could.

I come here with my family whenever we visit the area. It’s usually not crowded, which makes lunch even more enjoyable, especially with the view of Mount Batur, Mount Abang, and the lake. The food is simple but good, and the service is good too. Definitely recommend this restaurant for lunch with a great view of Mount Batur.

The view was great and the staff were nice, but the room was horrible. Little flies covered the hallway to our room. The bathroom smelled of urine, and we found cockroaches in it. Our friends in another room found several bugs on their bed.
