Skylake Villa

Kak Yuni was kind and supportive while helping us arrange a reservation for my son’s birthday, and we appreciate that. But after spending nearly IDR 1,000,000, we were disappointed by several parts of the stay. The view didn’t match the impression from Instagram. We thought the villa would be right by the lake, but what we saw was quite different. We were told there would be other guests, but it was only my husband, my son, and me. As first-time guests, that left us uncomfortable. Google said staff were available 24 hours, but they were only there until 9 PM, which raised safety concerns. Breakfast also fell short of what the menu photo led us to expect. It showed eggs and French toast, but we got one slice of toast and one omelette. Some basics, including tissues and hand soap, hadn’t been replenished before check-in either. We hope management addresses these issues for future guests. The staff, especially Kak Yuni, were very helpful, but this will be our last time spending money at this property. Thank you for your attention.

We found the place comfortable, with beautiful scenery, fairly complete facilities, fast Wi-Fi, and a warm jacuzzi. If you’re checking in at night, eat beforehand or bring food: the villa doesn’t take late-night food orders, there are no online motorbike taxis, and going out to eat means a fairly long trip in the dark. Also bring your shoes or sandals inside before bed. A dog likes to bite footwear while playing and can wreck it 😁

Yuli was the standout. She was kind, responsive, and helpful throughout, and her warmth made us more comfortable when other things disappointed. She’s the heart of the place, and I hope she’s valued and paid above Kintamani’s basic minimum wage for the role she does. Without her help, the rest would have been a disaster. At IDR 1 million per night, the accommodation didn’t feel up to the price. The cabin had been cleaned, but the curtains, sofa bed, and bedsheets looked neglected, there was paint splatter on the floor, and the real wood floor felt slimy from oil that hadn’t been cleaned properly. The bonfire seating fabric also looked unwashed and put us off. The bathroom was spacious but felt unfinished, with no towel hooks or shelf space and an awkward layout. The wood floors were sticker panels over concrete, the vanity was unstable and creaked, and cracks in the bathtub meant it couldn’t be filled. Flower petals in the tub, shown in promotional images, cost an extra IDR 35,000. That isn’t much, but at this price range we’ve had those included elsewhere, with more attention to the guest experience. We liked the idea of the meal by the bonfire, but it cost IDR 180,000, plus IDR 80,000 for two extra boxes of sausages. That felt steep for what was offered, despite the staff’s effort. The lake view room also didn’t match the photos, since construction of other cottages partly blocks the view. The listing should be updated and make clear the lake isn’t directly in front. When we arrived, the front office looked like a storage area, and the place felt unfinished and uncared for. The setting has potential, and with renovation, better upkeep and presentation, honest marketing, and investment, this could be a wonderful stay. I hope the feedback helps. We arrived during the Bali Power Outage and, because of a communication issue between the host and staff, there was no power or water supply. Luckily Suci, the staff member, was friendly and kept us company that night. The room is great for couples wanting privacy and a good hill view. Thanks for the hospitality.
