We picked a room in its own little bungalow, with a cute terrace and a view of the lake. It was clean inside, with a kettle, tea, and coffee. Louis also helped us arrange our trip to Batur.

The best part was leaving. Our room was dirty, as were the sheets and towels, and the doors wouldn’t close properly. Flies were everywhere. Service was very poor, and the food wasn’t good or fresh. The neighborhood felt unpleasant, with no shops or restaurants nearby.

The view was breathtaking, and the service was great. We got quick replies whenever we had questions, and the room was good for the price. The receptionist also guided our Mount Batur climb. He knew the area inside out and could tell us all about the surroundings.

We booked four nights and left after two. There was vermin in the room and flies everywhere, plus loud rock music from a neighboring property at 6:30 in the morning. The hot water wasn’t enough, the room wasn’t serviced, and we had to ask for replacement towels because the ones supplied were torn and stained. When we reported the vermin, nobody offered any help. Take a close look at where the perfect ratings come from compared with the truthful ones. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.
