Grand Cordela Hotel AS Putra Kuningan

We checked in with the family during Lebaran. It's an old-looking hotel, but the only one in Kuningan city. Breakfast was okay. Housekeeping needs to pay closer attention to cleanliness: the pillowcase in our room was wrinkled and looked like it had already been used, and the replacement towel on the second day smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The manager really needs to look into this.

The large pool was nice, breakfast was great, and the hospitality was really good. We got good value for the money, and the restaurant menu was inexpensive. The Superior Twin room with an extra bed was okay, though not very big. I did find an empty mineral water bottle under the bed, so cleanliness could use some attention. There's also a nice coffee shop near the front. The extra bed cost Rp150.000, around $10. For that, we got a very thin foam mattress, a thinner pillow and blanket, plus a hygiene kit, towel, mineral water, and breakfast.

My earlier review, from nearly three months ago, said, “My hotel room smells like gutter but other than that it is a delightful experience.” When I returned in July 2019, the experience had improved a lot. The front area had been expanded and given a modern refresh, and the new pool was a welcome addition. Since the reboot, everything looks clean and impressive, the rooms aren't dirty, and the food is definitely better. The price is good too. I raised my rating from four stars four months ago to five for the new Grand Purnama, or Grand Cordela, and would highly recommend it.

I've stayed here several times, from when it was called Grand Purnama to now as Grand Cordela. The hotel has grown a lot, with new buildings, a ballroom, a playground, and a small coffee shop beside the lobby. The pool was okay, and it's a kid-friendly place. The location is convenient, near the market center and alun2 taman kota, with street food easy to find nearby. The service was so-so, and breakfast didn't have much variety. When my husband and I went, it was packed and we couldn't find a table, so we sat outside by the pool. He had to go back and forth for food, and a restaurant staff member kept asking which room he was from, even though she'd already asked when we first arrived. People came into the restaurant from the pool, playground, and other entrances. With so many ways in, staff couldn't tell whether people without breakfast coupons were eating too. It was crowded and disorganized.
