OYO 3607 Samudra Homestay

The location is the one good thing, right beside the department store and handy for getting around Kuta. The room itself was awful, with dirt in several places, including the bed, bathroom, floor and fridge. The TV picture was blurry, and the wardrobe, sink and table were all broken. It was so bad that I couldn't bring myself to take photos. The owners weren't friendly either.

The room was nice and the facilities were good, but the glass doors let in a lot of outside noise, especially in the morning. They also have a pet bird. If you're bringing a car, be aware that the hotel can't be reached by car and has no parking. You'll need to park at the mall next door.

The room smelled strongly of urine, the bathroom was filthy, and the lock was so warped that my key snapped off the first time I used it. The flimsy sliding glass door had come off its hinges, which felt like a security risk. We asked to move to another room but were refused, even though other rooms were available. The staff were sometimes inattentive and sometimes rude. A very unpleasant stay.

The only good thing about this guesthouse is its location. The air conditioning in my room barely worked better than a fan, and the fixtures and fittings badly need maintenance. The owner tried to charge me extra, saying the amount I'd paid through the accommodation platform was too low.
