Defa Homestay

We had a clean room with air conditioning that worked really well, and the owner was kind and welcoming. They made us great pancakes for breakfast. We’d originally booked another homestay, but it was overbooked and sent us here. I was a little frustrated at first, but ended up glad we came. Kuta Lombok central area is about a 15-20 minute walk; walking was fine for us, or you can rent a scooter from the kind owner.

We stayed seven nights and loved the quiet, comfortable room, which had the basics we needed. The place is two minutes from Kuta Central, and you can rent a motorbike for 50K. Staff and owners are really friendly, and the atmosphere is nice. Every morning there was a delicious banana pancake with honey or chocolate. When we had trouble with the bike, they came to sort it out within an hour, free of charge. We’d stay here again if we return to Kuta.

The price is unbeatable, and the owner was mostly helpful, so I can’t complain about everything. But avoid the room with A/C, it smells really bad. It’s also quite noisy, and the female hosts weren’t very friendly. Towels are provided, and the banana pancake breakfast comes with honey or chocolate. The scooter is cheap, and you can bargain the price down to 50k. We’ve stayed in better homestays, even for this price.

Sam gave us a really warm welcome and helped us arrange a scooter and laundry. He also made delicious banana pancakes for breakfast and drove us to the airport early in the morning. The room was very clean and had everything we needed, and the place is so close to Kuta. We had a fantastic three-night stay and would recommend it and come back.
