Grand Mega Resort & Spa Bali

This was our honeymoon, and the room’s atmosphere and feel spoiled the experience. The building looks good outside, but the rooms inside were awful. The furniture and bathroom fittings were very old, the room and towels smelled, and open bins with no lids had been left in the room. There was no locker either. The mattress felt almost 30 years old and was horrible to sleep on. It left us with severe back and body pain. When we asked for cutlery, they told us to come down three floors to collect it instead of bringing it up. Room service was frustrating too. They handed over the plate and asked for payment before we could even taste the food. There were so many ridiculous rules for a low quality hotel. At breakfast, flies and insects were landing on uncovered food, and even after we told the team, nothing changed. We were served the same food for all three days of our stay. The worst hotel I’ve experienced. I can’t imagine finding one worse in my lifetime. To me, it’s a lodge, not a hotel.

My daughter and I really loved our stay at grand mega resort and spa. We felt safe there, even as a woman traveling alone, and the staff were helpful and quick to respond. The rooms were comfortable, and breakfast was good. Since there were several Indian guests, I’d suggest adding one or two Indian dishes. I requested massages for my daughter and me, and the service was very good. We both felt relaxed. Five stars for the hotel and staff. Thank you again.

We stayed from 29th January to 3rd February, and the hotel arrangements were unacceptable. The room had no partitions between the toilet area, bathtub, and bedroom, and the smell was there all the time. We were moved to a room with a partition, but its door was extremely hard to open. Hand wash and shampoo weren’t refilled even after we asked, and used towels were simply folded and put back instead of changed. The room was dirty each time we returned, and we saw no visible housekeeping. Ants and insects were around the breakfast area. After eating breakfast, both my wife and I had diarrhea, which made us suspect the food was unhygienic. We arrived after a nine hour flight with our infant, who was exhausted and couldn’t sleep, but the hotel refused early check-in even when we offered to pay extra. Before the trip, I’d asked for a hotel change because of online reviews. Those concerns were ignored. I was told the package was fixed and couldn’t be changed, and that the negative reviews were false. Because of health concerns, we eventually had to move hotels at our own expense. This shows a serious failure in due diligence and customer care.

I was robbed in my first room, which was about as far away as possible, and the CCTV cameras were, as usual, under maintenance. After I requested a room change, they moved me to one where the shower barely dripped, even with the knob turned all the way, and the floor carpet was peeling. They fiddled with the shower and told me that was how it was supposed to work. I asked to change rooms again, but the rude receptionist said the hotel was fully booked and hung up on me. I had to speak to the manager, and then a room suddenly became available. That one also had peeling floor covering, a terrible bathroom, and a broken basin. I’d had enough and left right away. If you really want a peaceful holiday, don’t stay here.
