We meant to stay for a couple of days and ended up staying more than a week. The family who own J.A Hostel made us feel so welcome, inviting us to eat with them more than once, taking us to bazaars for souvenirs and helping with translation, and showing us spots along the beach for sunset. The hostel is charming and tucked away from the main road's traffic and noise. Chickens do sometimes wander through the courtyard 😊 The beach is still an easy walk, about half an hour, and the route takes you past local life away from the touristy beach area. I can't recommend it enough 🙂

The family here are lovely, really friendly, and sometimes invite guests to share good, authentic local dinners. The hostel is clean, with comfortable beds and a standard bathroom. A four-bed dorm costs 60k IDR, and breakfast is available for around 12k IDR. They also provide free water and coffee.

The family were so lovely and often invited us to eat with them, giving us a glimpse of local life. It's a great place near the beaches, and I don't think you could find a better family to stay with :)
