Join Homestay

We had a really nice stay at Join and I’d definitely recommend it. We spent over a week there, and lots of other guests around us kept extending their stays. The owner, lam ruz, even covered some unexpected extra costs, which we really appreciated. We got a nice scooter from them eventually. The first one was old and slow, but they replaced it with one that worked really well. The aircon was fine, just a little loud, and the WiFi was pretty slow, so be ready to use mobile data if you rely on it. I’d skip the full Bali transport package for 500k pP, whether through them or in general. The operating company had really bad boats, too full, with half the seats broken and no Aircon, plus lots of hidden costs and rip-offs. Booking separately came to almost the same price, but with private drivers and safe boats. That transport issue wasn’t the Homestays fault.

The dorms gave me good privacy, the AC was strong, and there’s a nice pool for cooling off. The bathroom, though, smelled damp, the doors were rusty, and brown water came from the sink. Breakfast is pancakes only. You can rent a scooter for 70,000 IDR/day.

The hosts were so friendly and helpful that we felt really comfortable. We spent five nights at Join Homestay and had a great time. The room was clean and spacious, and the pool area was nice and clean too, just right for relaxing after surfing. Thanks so much! Definitely recommend staying there.

The rooms were bigger than I expected, with a closet and mini fridge. There were fewer insects than I usually find in rooms at this price, and the AC was quiet and worked well. Breakfast was decent, there’s a store close by, and scooters are available to rent for 60k. The pool wasn’t great, it was warm and smelled a little weird. The location was okay, kind of in the middle of a roundabout, but you can drive straight out onto the road. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.
