Kak Garden Inn

The bathroom smelled unpleasant, and the sheets and linens were visibly stained. The bed was uncomfortable, the pillows smelled so bad I couldn't use them, and even the towels I tried to use to cover things smelled bad and seemed dirty. When I tried covering the bedding with my own clothes, they made me itch, so I worried there might be bed bugs. The stairs had large tubs collecting rainwater from the roof, and the furniture I saw in the hall while looking for a workspace was mostly worn out and in poor shape. I couldn't stay and booked another hotel instead. It felt like a waste of money, with basic cleanliness and upkeep badly lacking. I wouldn't recommend this inn.

The room was spacious and good, but the bed and sheet were very worn, with stains all over. I'd suggest the owner replace the sheet, or at least bleach it so it looks whiter.

Check-in went smoothly, and there are supermarkets and other shops nearby, but I can’t recommend this hotel. The rooms were well below a basic standard, with dirty pillow covers and sheets. The bathroom wasn’t very clean either, with hairs here and there, and it didn’t even have a washbasin, which I’ve never come across before. Cats wander in the corridor, which is fine, but guests’ dishes are left outside and the cats sometimes eat from them. I wouldn’t order room service. Parking is very limited, and there are lots of other places to choose from. I usually try to leave good reviews, but I can’t find a reason to do that here. Expecting a minimum standard isn’t asking for luxury.

After a ferry ride and a three-hour bus trip, my boyfriend and I arrived exhausted and just wanted to shower and rest. At check-in we were taken to a room and told, “sorry, it’s so hot.” They offered us an “upgrade” for 100,000 IDR, which we accepted. But it was the same room as the first one, just not in direct sun, so it felt like we were being charged extra for no real change. The towels and linens also looked unclean, as other reviews have mentioned. I’m usually reluctant to leave a negative review, but this stay at Kak Garden Inn was disappointing, and I can’t recommend it. It seems likely you’ll be pressured to pay for an unnecessary upgrade.
