Matahari Hotel

I couldn’t stay after that first night and had to leave. The sheets were filthy, ants were crawling over the desk, and there was no elevator, so I had to haul my luggage up and down the stairs. The whole building felt like an unfinished ruin. I deeply regret booking here.

I helped arrange a last-minute stay for a small group of TimNas Futsal Athlete before their late evening flight in Bajo. It was easy to organize, and the hotel had secure private areas where athletes could rest undisturbed during transit, with strict security and flexible protocols. The concierge was helpful and gave personalized recommendations. The Matahari Hotel is small but was nice for resting a few hours, and the terrace has beautiful ocean sunset views with golden light across the water. Thanks so much, and best of luck Matahari!

We booked a 'Street View' Room, but our balcony faced a row of rooms under renovation. The destroyer of Labuan Bajo. What a dump. Pictures are worth a thousand words.

When we checked out, we were charged twice. The hotel staff were helpful again and agreed to refund us after three days, once they had checked their bank statement. At check-in there had been some trouble with the toilet flush, but the staff helped with that too. We also got breakfast even though we had to leave early. Thank you.
