RedDoorz Plus near ICE BSD 2

Getting to ICE BSD is convenient, about a 10-minute walk, though you do have to cross a busy road. For a mall trip, there’s a free shuttle bus that takes around 10 minutes to reach Aeon mall. Food nearby is more limited: the Kantin in the motorbike parking area of the ICE parking lot is the only nearby place to buy food. From Hall 2/3, take the outside stairs down and walk straight ahead. There are also two cafe-type places in the neighbourhood near the hotel, but they’re overpriced and may not be open when you need them. Alfamart and indomaret are in the ICE parking lot too, I think below halls 6 and 7. The room looked clean when we arrived, but mould was visible the next morning. There’s no opening window or air vent, and the bathroom exhaust fan and AC switch off within 10 seconds of taking out the keycard, which controls the power. The bathroom drain was blocked, leaving water pooled on the floor, and the room leaked enough that the flooring outside was lifting. Mould made it hard for me to breathe and sleep. Sound and vibration came through the walls, and cigarette smells kept coming in through the door cracks and up the stairs, even though the place is supposed to be non-smoking.

The staff were courteous enough, and the room is only a 10-minute walk from ICE. That makes it suitable if you’re there for an event or concert, but otherwise you can find better value elsewhere. The amenities were limited to bottled water, towels, toilet paper, and shower gel. The toilet was disgusting from the start, and the floors were so heavily stained I can’t believe I managed to shower there for my whole stay. At least the water heater worked fine.

I didn’t stay long because this was the worst hotel room I’ve ever had. It was dirty and smelly, and when I tried cleaning it myself, my tissues came away grey-brown. I’ve stayed in hotels at this price before and never seen anything this bad, so I’m not comparing it with a five-star place. They wanted an IDR100k deposit or to hold my ID. I’m the one who should have been getting a refund after leaving so quickly. There was no hairdryer, and there was no tissue or shower gel. I can do without shower gel, but they hadn’t cleaned the place, and there wasn’t even tissue for me to use while cleaning. I had to buy some myself. What was the deposit for when I was cleaning the room for them? The bed was dirty and left my back itching. The shower room was so filthy I had to shower somewhere else, which makes me wonder why I booked this room at all. I heard what might have been mice or cockroaches moving around the shower drain at night. I didn’t dare look, so I just closed my eyes. The Google rating of about 4.5 stars seems completely inaccurate to me. I suspect the positive reviews are from unmarried couples using the place for you-know-what, and that the receptionist doesn’t care. Do yourself a favour and don’t book here.
